Phylogenomik und molekulare Taxonomie generieren durch den Einsatz neuer Sequenzierungstechniken enorme Datenmengen, die völlig neue Herausforderung an die Datenanalysen und Datensicherung stellen.
Innerhalb des zmb stellen wir uns diesen Herausforderungen durch die Entwicklung von neuen Algorithmen und Programmen und dem Betrieb eines Hochleistungsrechners.
Am LIB arbeiten die Sektionen Bioinformatik, Biodiversitätsinformatik und IT eng zusammen.
Zusätzlich unterstützen sie die WissenschaftlerInnen am gesamten LIB durch ihre Expertise. Zur Zeit sind Herr Dr. Alexander Donath (Bioinformatiker) und Herr Sebastian Martin (Wissenschaftlicher Programmierer) in der Sektion angesiedelt.
