Unsere Aufgabe
Die statistische Phylogenetik beschäftigt sich mit systematischen und statistischen Fehlern in der Phylogenie.
Bei der Rekonstuktion phylogenetischer Bäume (Stammbäume) werden eine Reihe Modellannahmen über den Verlauf der tatsächlichen Evolution gemacht. Treffen diese Annahmen nicht zu, so ist die Rekonstruktion des Stammbaums unsicher. Eine wichtige Aufgabe ist es, Effekte, die zur Rekonstruktion von falschen phylogenetischer Bäume führen, zu erkennen und nachzuweisen.
