Die Sektion Coleoptera betreut eine recht übersichtliche Sammlung von ca. 2,5 Millionen Käfern aus aller Welt (mit Schwerpunkt Afrika und Asien). Unsere Forschung umfasst taxonomische und evolutionsbiologische Fragen, wobei ein weites Methodenspektrum Anwendung findet, von DNA und Strukturmorphologie-basierten Analysen über Morphometrie zu Makroökologischen Ansätzen mittels Nischen- und Verbreitungsmodellierung.
