Junior-Forschungsgruppe (Elritzen)
In der Biodiversitätsforschung ist bislang nur wenig darüber bekannt, inwiefern Hybridisierung einer einheimischen und nicht einheimischen Art zu einer neuen ihrerseits invasiven Art führen kann. Eine Forschungsgruppe um Dr. Madlen Stange widmet sich nun dieser Forschungslücke mit einem Vorhaben am Zoologischen Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig – Leibniz-Institut zur Analyse des Biodiversitätswandels. Die Gruppe untersucht die Verbreitung des ökologisch wertvollen Schwarmfisches Elritze u. a. in der Sieg, einem etwa 155 Kilometer langem Nebenfluss des Rheins.
