Aufgabenbereiche
Ich bin Populations- und Gemeinschaftsökologin mit Promotion in “Biologischer Diversität and Ökologie” und leite die Abteilung "Naturschutzökologie" des Zentrums für Biodiversitätsmonitoring und Naturschutzforschung (zbm) am LIB Museum Koenig in Bonn. Ich bin aktiv an Biodiversitätsforschungsnetzwerken beteiligt, koordiniere internationale Kooperationen und engagiere mich für den Naturschutz an der Schnittstelle zwischen Wissenschaft und Politik.
Mein besonderes Interesse gilt dem Vorkommen von Tierarten über die Zeit, der räumliche Verteilung von Populationen, der Zusammensetzung von Lebensgemeinschaften sowie den Ursachen und Folgen von Biodiversitätsverlusten. Meine langjährigen Schwerpunkte sind die Gemeinschaftsökologie von Lemuren und die anwendungsorientierte Forschung zum Schutz der Biodiversität in Madagaskar. Zudem habe ich interdisziplinäre Forschungsprojekte zu den Ursachen des Insektenrückgangs in Deutschland realisiert.
