Sometimes seemingly barren - sometimes lush and green: the landscapes of the Venn and Eifel are as diverse as they are extraordinary. The beauty of these regions is shown in the photographs taken by the photographers of the Eschmar Nature Photography Club. Museum Koenig Bonn is presenting their impressive photographs in the special exhibition "Between Moor and Maar - Our Nature in the Fens and Eifel", which will be on display until 13 September 2026.

The special natural regions of the Fens and Eifel stretch from East Belgium to the west of Germany. Their stream valleys and forests, their mountain ranges and meadows are home to a unique flora and fauna. Many of the species that live there have become rare. But where space is given to diversity, photographers continue to find a wealth of motifs and the opportunity to discover their own perspectives on animals and plants.

The pictures taken by the Eschmar nature photography club, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, tell of this diversity. The group's photographers document the landscape as it changes with the seasons and inspire people to experience nature on their own doorstep.

The Naturfototreff Eschmar brings together 15 photographers who not only share a passion for photography:
. With their pictures, they show the fascinating beauty of our natural world and promote a respectful approach to it.

Part of this is the annual Eschmar Nature Photography Days at Museum Koenig.
This year, the members of Naturfototreff Eschmar presented numerous photographic projects. On 14 and 15 March 2026, 200 visitors listened to presentations about the magical fens and natural areas of the Eifel, the gorges of Australia, the floodplain wilderness of Austria, mysterious moors and the extraordinary biodiversity of Costa Rica.
