The Scientific Advisory Board has the task of critically monitoring and promoting the scientific activities and development of the Institute. It does this by issuing statements based on the documents provided and through discussions with the management and employees, which may also contain recommendations for the further development of the Institute and for the consideration of desirable aspects.
In particular, it has the task of
1) to advise the Director General of the Foundation on medium-term research and development planning as well as on national and international collaborations
2) to comment on the draft programme budget and make recommendations on the use of resources
3) to support the Board of Trustees in the recruitment of management staff and in important decisions on the further development of the Foundation
4) to evaluate the research, service and consulting performance of the individual work units at regular intervals in dialogue with the management and scientific staff, if necessary with the involvement of external experts
5) to report to the Board of Trustees on the evaluation.
