Gender equality at the LIB

The LIB attaches great importance to proactively promoting gender equality and working towards a balanced gender ratio throughout the institution, as well as at all functional levels. To this end, the LIB has developed and adopted a personnel development concept that includes, in particular, measures to promote women and an equality plan (GEP).

This concept includes an analysis of the current gender distribution in various functional areas and hierarchical levels, as well as formulated goals for remedying existing imbalances. Measures have been formulated to achieve these goals, including regulations and agreements to improve the compatibility of work and family life.

These include flexible working hours and mobile working options, but also an organizational culture that creates awareness of family needs – both in practice and through mandatory training for managers. The LIB has equal opportunities officers who are released from their regular duties to perform their tasks.
