The summer reading festival for children and young people began on Monday at the Hamburg Zoological Museum. As one of a total of 34 stations, around 20 young listeners were able to follow the exciting story “Rabatz in Wabe 13” by author Kai Pannen. Readings and workshops are taking place all over the Hanseatic city until Friday.

The sixth edition of the Hamburg VorleseVergnügen is in full swing and started at the Zoological Museum in front of a sold-out audience. The pupils were whisked away by author Kai Pannen into the magical world of bees, which is the subject of his current book „Rabatz in Wabe 13“: Bee Maxi is eagerly awaiting her birthday – the day she finally becomes a full member of the hive. Unfortunately, her people do not celebrate the occasion, so Maxi has to do some convincing and get her own way.

After the reading, the young listeners were allowed to ask the author questions and explore the actually closed museum on their own. Real bee specimens from the collections of the Hamburg LIB site were also on display, making the morning not only an entertaining but also educational event. Due to the current situation, places within the series are scarce and highly sought after. All stations are already sold out.
