Questionnaire: Dr Nicole Nöske
Your Title, Name, Place of work?
Dr Nicole Nöske, Bonn
What is your current position/function at our institute?
Researcher in the FörTax project, inventory module, Department of Education and Mediation, zwt (Centre for Knowledge Transfer)
What do you like about your job/position?
The diverse work in knowledge transfer and to link education with the research area. The topic of training species knowledge on the whole range of species groups and knowledge about biodiversity is very exciting for me, I am currently learning a lot new in the zoological field, as I am originally a botanist and lichenologist. I really enjoy the exchange and close cooperation with various scientists, educators and offspring in my area.
Can you please describe your tasks at the LIB?
In the FörTax project, I study the specific need for taxonomic knowledge for nature conservation, research, for expert reports and reporting obligations from the federal and state governments and compile an overview of training institutions and their offers, which are made freely accessible and searchable via a data portal. I am also responsible for network building and the publication of the results in the form of recommendations for action for politicians and training institutions.

Is there something about the Institute that particularly appeals to you?
I am fascinated by both the large zoological collections as the basis for many research questions and archives for future generations and the exhibition area, in addition to education and mediation, as a gateway to the general public. I also appreciate the very collegial working atmosphere.
