The possibility of learning new things every day.

Can you please describe your tasks at the LIB?
From a small piece of fresh tissue, it is possible to cultivate viable cells and store them permanently for many purposes. Cells are an expandable resource for high quality DNA, RNA, chromosomes, allowing the characterization of biodiversity. The main objective of my work is to archive living cells from different vertebrate species (hopefully soon invertebrate as well!) as a backup strategy in species conservation efforts. I also develop new protocols for better biobanking practices.

Is there something about the Institute that particularly appeals to you?
What thrills me is that the Museum concentrates specialists in different areas of knowledge, giving me the opportunity to work with experts and learn from the best.
